um yeah I do, thats just stupid and asking for trouble if I recall I haven't been asked in the past to show my id. they just ask my name I think and look me up on a big book, I wont swear to it but I really don't think they require one here. if that happens this year I think I am going to insist they look at mine.

I had to show my ID and ( I think) at all precincts in Texas you have to. It is the law. They slide your ID through a machine ( think credit card slider) to make sure you are counted.

I've always had to show my DL, in La. and here in Tx. And they wonder why voter fraud is rampant in the US.

I've had to show mine in LA.
Here's another one: Maine and Vermont allow convicted prisoners to vote. Go figure.

Word on the street is that it's rather easy to get you to do that!

I had to send in a photo copy of my driver's license with my absentee ballot request. Thing is, how many of those states ask for other types of info? SSN, driver's license number, etc. At least, with the latter, you can let the state know that somebody has it. Not saying that it's infallible, but it's not like it's easy, either.

According to democrats, requiring photo ID is voter disenfranchisement because poor blacks in the inner city seem to be able to find a way to get Nike sneakers and plasma screen tv's but just have no way of making it to the DMV to get an ID card.

Voter rolls stuffed with dead and absent registrants

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Mississippi's voter situation is hard to believe. Places like Madison County have over 123% more registered voters than people over the age of 18.

Sue Sautermeister, First District Election Commissioner in Madison County, tried to purge the rolls, but ran into trouble when it was discovered it takes a vote of three of the five election commissioners and the purge cannot take place within 90 days of a federal election.

Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann is the first to admit the situation with voter registration in this state is terrible.

"It is terrible," he says. "Combined with the fact that we don't have voter ID in Mississippi, anybody can show up at any poll that happens to know the people who have left town or died -- and go vote for them."

Florida is one of them.

I went in to vote yesterday...handed them both my ID and my voters card and she said - no, we only need your voters card. But, they did ask me to tell them my address...I guess to make sure it was correct on the card? Either way...I signed some electronic thing and they gave me my card.

SO, it's official...I voted! :)

Your V-card is a lot more descriptive of where you are in the books, and makes the process faster.
