I feel sorry for little old people that live in front of their TV sets and can't or won't be able to make these upgrades.

What about all those battery powered sets they sold for emergencies like hurricanes? I don't have one but I would imagine those are all useless now.

Just put it on the curb. Someone will steal it, don't worry.

Actually, if you have a satellite dish, this is all taken care of, at least around these parts anyway. Digital receiver, also a converter. It's nice.

Look at DJ, wanting to belong. Everyone knows that there's no place to plug in a TV in an igloo.

I thought of this thread in three ways, one was seeing some indication that they're putting off the end date, second that when I asked at Best Buy where all the battery/portable tv's were...

As of now I'm still only Analog TV's but I am on cable and I run through Digital Tuner equipped DVD/VHS Recorders.

The one issue that has me truly panic'd is "What am I going to do when I have to have all of my Incandescent light bulbs with those curly [notice I didn't say squirrly Munkie] Flourescent replacements.

You have to read the "Material Safety Data Sheet" and call in a full dress Hazmat crew if one of those things breaks because they contain Mercury and Mercury Vapor

Bought my DTV converter today. After wife's discount and coupon, it only cost five bucks. /bgsmile

Does it work with your AC/DC TV?

DTv converter is AC. It's going in the RV. My 10" AC/DC TV only works with DC now. Power surge in RV killed the AC side (along with a bunch of other things like lights, LP/CO detector.)
