How can you compare the smoothing feature in radarlab hd to grlevel3, or can you?

You would have to see them side by side to compare.
I assume you can DL a free trial of both. Do that. Then bring up the same radar site and zoom in.

I could be wrong, but its all the same data so there isnt a difference operationally. Basically, if your looking at radar; it came from one place and one place only, the doppler. As im sure you are aware there are only 3 types of radar. There is Level3, Level2, and Level1 (raw). The level 3 has less resolution, the level 2 has higher resolution, and the level 1 is not available for public use. With that said, Stormlab HD may have a different set of color palettes and backrounds, but it is the same data. I do not know if HD used level2 or level 3, but its one of them. One difference between the online radarlab HD is that the smoothing is not dependant on your graphics card. Back in the day, i had a real problem with finding a machine that could handle smoothing data, but in this day in age almost any computer can do it.
Someone can correct me if im wrong, but thats the bottom line. Its the same stuff, just a different color table. Plus, you dont need to use any kind of hardware to smooth the data.
