Filesharing isn't working. What is up with that? Everywhere I go, nothing works.

Isn't it against the law??? There was a 13 year old in Tampa who was charged over $100K for downloading and file sharing of movies and music.

Jeffery I wouldn't want you to go to Jail. Your answer is news groups

interestingly enough, i just bought a ROTS dvd from a dude who just happened to be walking in a store as i was walking out...he had lots of movies, but ROTS caught my eye...$6... gonna pop it in in a few minutes...if it sucks, i'll just go see it in the theatre, but if this works, then i'm pumped...i'll report back on this either way...

Not sure if we should really be talking about Piracy on this site. It's sad how easy it is to get a copy of it .

Hey, Phil, if it works I will pay you for a copy....hee hee....

what, do you mean to say the ROTS dvd i bought was produced illegally?

Don't watch it Phil... it will ruin the experience for you. It is a crappy avi from some dude who filmed it with a camera in his hat.

you must have a different version than I have.

I have a copy but will wait untill I see it in person before I watch it on my computer .

I am not going to fileshare the movie. I just want a copy to hold me over until the dvd release later this year. I am going to see this movie multiple times in the theatre, and buy it in all of its incarnations as it is released throughout the year. I am not hurting George Lucas or anyone who worked on the film in any way, shape, or form.

you must have a different version than I have.

It is probably the same crappy avi/mpeg that the guy who sold it to him burned onto a cheap dvd-R.

LI Phil

i asked the dude (he was of asian ancestry) if the film "shook" (as in a hand held filming it) and he didn't understand (or pretended not to understand) what i was saying...i figured it's only $6 and if it sucks, i'll know from the get go...a co-worker gets bootlegs all the time and apparently they are very high quality...so who knows...

Jeffery McElroy
05-24-2005, 04:25 PM
"high quality" is a VERY loose term, my friend! There is nothing like seeing it in the theater for the first time, in all of its digital glory in Dolby Digital EX, like only a theatrical viewing can offer. Wasting that experience on some vcd quality, bastardized divX version of a movie of this magnitude is insane. Trust me... wait until after you have seen it at the movies.

The Bug

I have to agree with Jeffery on this...you have to see it on the big screen. The sound, the action - everything it just makes it so much better than on a TV at home or computer. Just not the same.

LI Phil
05-24-2005, 04:28 PM
how long is the movie? there's a 5:20 showing (assuming there are tix available) at my local theatre...maybe i should go see it there...

Jeffery McElroy
05-24-2005, 04:28 PM
That.... and you have to realize that you are viewing a cheaply encoded, poorly compressed avi, that came from some guys digital video camera.

EDIT: Phil: 2:20 minutes approx.

LI Phil
05-24-2005, 04:31 PM
aight...ima see it in the theatre...so, it's OK to steal the movie from the internet after you've seen it in the theatre, but not before?

Jeffery McElroy
05-24-2005, 04:34 PM
I don't know... at least it isn't unethical any more. You are not taking away from everyone who worked so hard to produce the film.

ARRGHHHH!!!! My stinking Christianity is kicking in, and I am not going to download it now.

Phil I think it is 2 hours and 20 minutes. Worth every second of it though. I will even buy the ticket for you if you want! You really need to see it. Oh wait, I can't because they need my card at the counter so...unless I fly up there that wouldn't work.

Jeffery - screw it - go for it. You only live once.

Jeffery McElroy
05-24-2005, 04:37 PM
There are a few digital screenings around the country...

I will get the list in a second, and you can see if you live near one.

Jeffery - screw it - go for it. You only live once.

First, I am an eternal bieng, as all humans are. You will either spend the rest of your life in heaven or in hell.

2nd, as a filmmaker, I cannot bring myself to do this.

I am afraid to watch it in HD. Mr. Skywalker wouldn't be as cute it might show too many flaws....
