I know that aol is attempting to take control of the planet. Them and microsoft.

aol IS evil, but microsoft is simply a successful company that steve jobs has a personal vendetta against. aol should be sued as much...but no...because the media love time warner and ted turner
apple is probably a much surperior product for the computer "professional" but microsoft definitely gets an unfair rap

Microsoft is not evil, they just don’t have the consumer in mind. They are a business. Apple computers and Steve Jobs are industry innovators. As for aol. It is impossible to escape from their evil grasp. We still pay them a monthly fee for their “services”, even though we have used every means of communication possible to reiterate our desire to quit. They won’t let us go. Phone calls, emails, and even written letters. The only thing left to do is walk in their with an M-60 and hold some company execs hostage until my demands are met.

i haven't counted the number i've received "in the mail" but it has to number 50...that's right 50. fifty "free 1250 hours" (or whatever they were 'giving away' at the time. fifty disks...what a waste. when i owned my house, we used them (not kidding here) as coasters. guests at first were a tad, taken aback shall we say, but after a while, they thought it was a hoot.
a friend of mine uses the free disks to ward off birds by placing them on strings in his peach trees (yes, we have peach trees on LI and they do bear fruit). i'd have to do a quick search, but someone came up with the top 50 uses for the free aol disks they mail out every minute...some of the "uses" were lame, but some where hilarious

but not 5 years ago...
Yes, AOL is bad, but AOL IM isn't AS bad. It's simply an IM program. No browser (although they're starting to add that with the install)

I had AOL and MSN #rla 3 years a piece. They both suck. Any client of mine that has either gets the "cosultation" about why they should get rid of the junk.
That being said, my sn's are in my profile
Only prob I have with AOL's AIM is I can't EVER get video's from rollie. :icon_evil
It's like some kind of major block...

Jeff- we were caught in the grasp of Aol too. They would not let us go, every time my mom called and nearly screamed to get them the point that we wanted to quit, we were billed in the next month. Finally the bills stopped coming, but i actually reported them to some of those local tv investigators, unfortunately they never did a story about them.
