Looks like some nasty weather was about to come through there. But, hey, you needed the rain. We could use some over here in Pensacola as well. I think from March 1 to now this year we've had 9 inches. From March 1 to now last year we had 40+(if the article I read was correct).
BTW...thanx for posting the pics.

Looks like a nice cluster of storms popped over P'cola just now, nice! I also see an outflow boundary heading northwest from there and now a thundershower popped over Mobile I was just told.
I was just in Pensacola yesterday and saw a bunch of clouds over Baldwin, but nothing between there and Crestview. Then I hit some sprinkles on and off until Live Oak, when I finally reached the outskirts of Alberto. I'll post some pics in a bit...

awesome pictures everyone!
Here's four images from my return drive to Tampa from Mobile/Pensacola yesterday. The first image looks at the outer edge of the Alberto cloud deck over the eastern horizon from U.S. 90 near Quincy. I snapped the second image along U.S. 90 east of Greenville after I decided I didn't feel like doing I-10 anymore. The clouds got extremely dark yet there was only one small squall through Madison. The third image was shot to the north as I drove near the hamlet of Lee along U.S. 90 near the Suwanee River. I love those distance rain shaft horizons.
The biggest amount of rain I encountered was in the Branford area where I saw light sheets of water come down. I turned south on U.S. 27-41 and it stopped, and portions of the sky opened up to reveal a spectacular post-sunset colour reflection on Alberto's high level outflow clouds. I stopped at the rural intersection of Marion County Road 326 and 225A near Ocala Park Ranch to shoot the image.
I'll post a couple of pics I took on the Courtney Campbell of the storm in a few...

p.s. katie...apparently it's ok to have a link in your sig? just checking before i screw up
On the commute home tonight I took the Courtney Love Parkway (State Road 60) between Pinellas and Hillsborough and decided to stop on one of the frontage roads to take a few pics. The pics make the storm look worse, trust me, as it was actually quite nice with a warm breeze and just a few spritzs of water. The bay was quite choppy and some sea spray occasionally flew, but I've seen worse surf after a winter frontal passage.
I took one of the preverbial palm trees blowing in the wind shots looking east at Rocky Point, and one shot shows the Howard Johnson Bridge over the southern horizon.

I haven't figured it out yet.

Here is the GOM on Saturday....this was Anna Maria Island...my friend Bobra and I.
We totally look like a couple in this picture - I'm short and I was trying to brush the hair out of my face but it looks like I'm holding her hand or something...
:)
Anyway...you can see the difference from the ones Jenny took and mine..
