Just wanted to say hello, I'm from Long Island and live in Montauk in the summer and Deer Park in the other seasons. Only had two hurricanes come through here that I can remember, Gloria and Bob, Gloria was pretty bad but that was only a CAT 1, i think. LIers are very lucky, we only usually get the remmants of hurricanes, we've had 3 tropical storms, bonnie, charley, and Gaston/hermine just this year!

Long Island is a nice place to go on vacation and to live, especially near the beaches, don't have to worry about the hurricanes as much as in Florida. Theres so much to do here!
