Detroit MI:
Hunters who live in Macomb County and don't pay child support could be risking their hunting privileges.

The new program is not meant to punish hunters who are behind on payments, but to pursue people who do not make the effort, according to Macomb County officials.

Thats' the way it should be....If you are ordered to pay, do it.

But what if their livelihood is based on hunting, what are they going to do then??

LSU, they will do the same thing the children they have not been supporting have been doing....do without.

I would rather see them go to jail!

I was joking, but yes, I agree with you. They need some kind of penalty... Jail could work, but its not my line of duty.

They do make money in jail, and they will have to work 4x as hard to make enough money to pay it. But hey, not like they have nothing else to.:sad01:

Yep they have work release programs. What gets me they got money to go hunting but not to pay child support. Some of these guys spend boo-koo bucks on hunting.
BTW- I have been on the other end of this, I have had to pay child support, for 4 years, one of the few woman that have been on the other side.

Jail will wake them up to the reality that they have to do what is ordered by the court. A few weekends in jail is a big eye-opener.

Jail can and will open the eyes of some people, but not everyone. Some people never learn anything.Everyone needs to take responsibilty for their actions, but not everybody does.

So what are you saying, just do nothing to them? Jail is better than that.

I am saying jail does not always open someone eyes. Not everyone will learn from going to jail.If someone does not pay child support then put them in jail,I really don't care it is not my problem just my opion.

That makes sense, I'm just trying to get something going. I agree with you that jail wont help everyone. I was just saying that going to jail, and maybe nothing happens is a better shot than doing nothing at all.

If the person is just an "average Joe" who decides they are not going to pay child support I would say jail would open their eyes. However, if they are an criminal or the likes of a criminal then jail probably won't open their eyes but at least they will be where they can't make any more kids. Hey why not castrate the ones whose eyes are not opened by jail. LOL

maybe if kids who go to Juvenile cant get it after they get out, we can chop off their hands

But killing someone, o thats all fine and dandy...?? Am I against the death penalty? HELL NO! But saying that this is a more sever level seems a little off.

O, and if the kids go to Juvi for that, they have already dropped, so the same penalty would fit.

I think taking away their "priveledges" like hunting and fishing for not paying child support is one way to get their attention. Not real sure if it solves the problem though. But stop and think for a sec, these people that are behind in child support also hide. They work for cash, so they can't be found through their social security number, and alot of them don't get fishing and hunting licenses because they are hiding. Alot of them don't even bother with a drivers license for fear of being caught.
