Wowers it is a Cat 4, Weather Channel confirmed it. Looks like a Cat 5 is def gonna happen, hell maybe in the next hour...with still another 24 hrs of strengthing...

901..... i bet its cat 5 right now, they just dont want to "scare" people I would say winds are at least 165mph. This is as strong as katrina right now


looks like we will retire at least 6 this year.

As far as I'm concerned, scare the crap out of them. That way they leave.

Katrina didn't have black convection around her even when she was 170mph

It needs to start tomorrow, without a doubt. While this will not be a 5 on landfall, the expanding wind field will create a large surge, and there's always the wind (I'm anticipating cat-4 on landfall) and tornados

The eye is only 4 miles wide.

Pressure dropped 69 mb in 7.5 hours. It could still be dropping.
