It doesn't make sense that the water that was just mixed up has a typhoon forming overhead. I think your trying to make too many connections...the moon theory was enough.

I said nothing of my belief that it is all connected. I just pointed out the fact that it is occurring at the same time and that the Maldives may get another beating.
That concept that weather works independently from all the other processes in the universe is just plain weird. The fact that many weather people believe that the weather equation is unsolvable eschews the perception of the science from it’s funding.
The fact is that there are many instances where earth weather is effected by space weather. The May and June 2003 tornado outbreaks happened during a Full Moon and a New Moon respectively during a period of elevated solar activity. It is “just” a coincidence, but in my 21 years of following the path of the New Moon that type of thing happens quite often.
It is also evident that the progression of the drought in the US is directly related to the Sun Spot Number.

James, yes we can all get along. It was an attempt, albeit feeble, at humor. Luna is the latin for "moon" and with it comes many of our English words derived therefrom, such as lunatic, lunacy, etc. All of which were meant to address those with theories that the moon controls our thoughts, actions and such, and also to explain extraterrestrial events such as earthquakes and tsunami.
Much of the “lunar mysticism” is based on the Full Moon. The big white disk in the night sky has always been a thing of awe to primitive people.
The lunatic fringe of electro-gravitational mind wandering is that of communication with extraterrestrials. That fringe thinks that crop circles and cloud pictures are made by people from space who use gravity for intergalactic communication because it moves faster than light.
They would use a cell phone, but they haven’t got one, besides a call to your girl friend in Alpha Centauri would take more than a lifetime with that level of technology.

Gravity is currently used by NASA’s engineers to swing space craft to outer planets in a round about way. Lensing a craft through Sun’s gravity around the moon would do the same thing in less time, but would require more precise timing and navigation.
