Netted some sprinkles from the cold front moving through this afternoon. That is the only precipitation that has fallen since Lee moved out of the area. Probably will be dry the rest of the month...

Three batches of thunderstorms yesterday, the first two with a lot of lightning, some of which struck some houses in Midway. Storms first moved through at 9 am, and continued again at 1045 until around noon. The last thundershowers were somewhat weak in the early afternoon. The severe thunderstorm watch issued until 8 am should have been issued for the morning hours, as our weather generally calmed down toward sundown, with only one lightning flash noted around 7 pm. All in all a good amount of rain fell and the winds during the 11 am storms were more ferocious than anything we got during Tropical Storm Lee.

With yesterday's dry frontage passage that provided the second round of below normal temperatures, October will end with no measurable precipitation. What a boring month...

Had our first measurable precipitation since September 28 yesterday evening with the latest frontal passage. The local PWS site recorded 0.17 inches of rain, Pensacola reported 0.09". Even heard a few rumbles with the two narrow bands of rainfall moving through. Now temps at 50 with cloudy skies and windy conditions. Going to be a short lived cold blast, 70s back on tap for Sunday.

No earth shattering weather here for months, and every rain event has been of the light to moderate kind with thunderstorms that were just average. There was a low pressure in April that dumped a bunch of rain one Saturday, but that is it for abnormal weather events. This evening there was a waterspout reported by Perdido Key, but that same line of thunderstorms waned as they moved eastward over my neck of the woods, providing just light rainfall with a few downpours and distant lightning for the most part. Back to D2 drought too, as May has been extremely dry until this evening's rainfall.
