just saw a news item on a car on Route 28, but I thought Boston's "Route 28' was like raised "Interstate Grade" major artery?
We had quite the flooding event here, yesterday. We haven't had much rain this month, but the Boston area had 2-4 inches of rain in about an hour, leading to flooding everywhere. Me and my friends were out during the height of the storm in Newton, MA, and there were places with a foot of water or more, and water was gushing out from where manhole covers used to be. No pictures, unfortunately, since I was out looking for a place to live and didn't have my camera with me. However, here are some links to some news coverage of the flooding.

Route 28 in that area is an expressway, and is a surface street through the city.
I think you're referring to the Central Artery (I-93), which was rerouted underground in 2003.
Daniel, are the "Summer Weather" slideshow pictures on WHDH from the same storm? It looks like Boston had some severe wind gusts with all the tree damage.

I'm just outside of Boston and got hit by the same storm that devastated that area. We saw an extended period of extremely heavy rain and gusty winds 30-40mph. Storm enlarged and sat over Boston resulting in over 3.5" of rain in Cambridge a near by suburb. At the same time , a little ways to the south - at the Blue Hill Observatory only a 100th of an inch of precip had fallen. Welcome to New England.
