Well their plan is back firing...Gas prices drop this past week here in Lafayette. I paid $3.67/gal at Sam's today. Last week I paid $3.75/gal at the same Sam's.
That is a big drop in my book.

...if your going to do wrong buddy, do wrong right... - DM3
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."
― John Rogers
Would anyone be surprised to know that several of the clips used in the video are being misrepresented? The last four clips starting at about 3:00...
1. The first clip from News West 9...this is a fairly recent clip from a local TV station in Midland, TX, heart of the Permian Basin petroleum industry. It is a lead-in to an interview of the chairman of the Permian Basin Petroleum Assoc. The gist of his comments are that high gas prices help the petroleum industry in the Permian Basin, and since they are the number one industry/employer in that area, it helps the employment numbers in that area.
2. The Harry Smith (The Early Show) clip...Harry Smith left the Early Show at the end of 2010, when gas prices averaged a little under $3/gallon. Notice that Harry mentions gas at over $4/gallon. The last time gas was that high before the end of 2010 was in July 2008. Yet the narrator wants you to believe that the clip was made during the Obama years.
3. Priya David (the second Early Show clip) posted an article on the Early Show website entitled "Bright Side of High Gas Prices". The article is dated July 16, 2008.
4. The last "inteview" was with Amanda Ripley, also being interviewed on the Early Show. Note the cover of Time Magazine in the background. That issue of Time Magazine was dated July 14, 2008. Ms. Ripley had published an article in Time Magazine entitled "Ten Things You Can Like About $4 Gas" in Time's July 2, 2008 issue.
The above brings up two questions...
1. Why is Don Smith using clips from July, 2008 as if they were made during the Obama years?
2. Why didn't Don Smith use similar clips that actually were made during the Obama years if there are so many examples available?
