An upper low will maintain clouds and light rainfall today as it begins to lift northeast. In doing so, it will bring colder air with it enabling the rain to mix with or change briefly to snow Monday night into Tuesday. The greatest chance of this occurring will be in northwest Alabama and in the higher elevations of the Cumberland Plateau. Temperatures may briefly drop to near freezing in these areas, but most locations should stay in the mid to upper 30s. Some minor grassy accumulations are possible, but any snow should melt off quickly by Tuesday afternoon as any mix changes back to rain before ending.
