As long as she is over 21 and older than your youngest daughter. That would be my basic age rule if I weren't happily married w/ children.

Well, Roll, if you're 30 years old then she is 15. Yes, that is too young. Need to know how old you are.

Once she is over 21, it is a maturity/compatability matter.

Having a 23 and 24 year old step-daughters. I think I would be OK with a 38/39 year-old as long as they made my girls happy and treated them well.

If you're dating, age doesn't mean a thing, as long as they're an adult. If marriage is involved, fifteen years is about the widest age spread you need to deal with. Anything beyond that and she's going to outlive you, have a boyfriend when Mr. Johnson gets tired and you'll be wearing depends while she waits for you to die.

Jess, have you ever considered becoming a diplomat? You have such a gentle way with words!

There could be some awkward moments, you have to remember you cannot provide her alcohol or you risk being arrested.

If my 19 year old brought home a 34 year old - my girls were not mature enough and I would be very worried if the 34 year old were as immature my girls at 19.

    If she is mature enough...

What is weird is that Roll is old enough to be her dad.

That alone would just creep me out.

I believe everyone here missed the fundamental question that should always be asked in this type of delicate situation.........."Does she swallow?"

There are ...advantages....to dating someone say [over 21] and [ideally[a college grad]if one is]. I think when I started college I was running with someone who was a sixth grader when I was a HS Senior. But she was a college Senior while I was a college "Freshman". I've got both an eight year gap and the longest lasting marriage, but we were in or close to our 30's when we first met.

You probably made a wise decision if she was between 18 and 21.
