    Default Another northern weather nut

    Hello all. I've been lurking as a member for about a week so I thought I should introduce myself. Since being referred to this site by a friend and fellow Canuck and weather nut I have found it to be very informative and educational.

    Being Canadian, I've not had to worry about protecting loved ones and property from tropical cyclones, as is the understandable preoccupation here at the moment. That's especially true living in the west. But as a kid growing up in Nova Scotia, I remember hurricane Beth sweeping through in 1971. So to a point, I can appreciate the fury they unleash. And having lived both in a maritime climate and a plains/apline climate I have come to appreciate the changeablity and drama of both, each in their own unique way.

    So I'll keep lurking and learning....maybe even posting from time to time.
