    bowdown Hardcore Chase 3/9/06!

It would be appreciated if you guys would be so kind to help me out on my journey today. I am currently on Interestate 459 headed S towards I-20. We are headed to Meridian MS this morning to meet up with Chief Meteorologist Josh Johnson to overlook some data and get to Jackson by the time of convective initiation. We have had good speeds on the road this morning so far and we hope to bag a nice tornado or two this afternoon. So, off we go! More when some new data comes in.

    From the chase today....

SR-35 south near Walnut Grove in Leake County, MS. Strong strait line winds were observed when this took place across the county. We were the WTOK Storm Chasers today. :)

    Another view...

There is the reason we had a problem yesterday in JAN....cap held too strong and low level dewpoints were coming off of mexico with a SSW LLJ....didn't help us.

The dewpoint field was coming off the GULF OF Mexico....and they were near 65 in Jackson yesterday morning at one point....but the insane wind fields aloft mixed dry air down from the mid-levels. The same thing happened Wednesday in the Plains.

My bad, I was speaking of the LLJ. As for SFC winds, they were off of the Gulf. Josh and I noticed that the winds were definately mixing down drier air aloft, and it was occuring especially in the sunshine was occuring. It was rather sickening. The dry air did aid in the insane wind damge that occured with the squall line. Maybe we will get another chance here soon.
