Let's try and revive this thread...
What are your thoughts on this afternoons weather ? - How high is the possibility of seeing tornadoes this afternoon or flooding ?

Very slight chance of seeing some twisters in SE Texas today but I would still keep a close eye on the weather this afternoon cause with the heating and the weaker shear there could be 1 or 2 isolated doppler indicated warnings with greatest risk to the north of you.

How far north are you talking about ? I live about 40 miles or so north east of Downtown Houston , is that far enough or do you mean further north ?

So far, this event is to the west of my location.

Audrey - 1957 - I was almost three and slept through it.
    Cindy - 1963 - First hurricane that I remember
Bonnie - 1986 - Watching all the transformers explode
Rita - 2005 - The sounds that I did not know my house could make & the roar
    Humberto - 2007 - Got 2" of rain
    Ike - 2008 - A long blow

Only people with oversized egos believe that mankind has caused global warming.

    Scientific Consensus is an Oxymoron

    Thanks !
Things are calming down over here and the rain is about to stop ! YAY ! Our front yard looks like a big ol' swimming pool...lol...Who wants to come over for a swim ?..hahaha..
Our backroom is flooded but that's not unusual , it always does with heavy rains like today !

According to Radar between 2.00 and 2.50 inches !

This is probably a completely dumb question BUT is there a way for me to measure (in my own yard) how much rain falls ,each time ?
