Weather radio
I need a good weather radio. The cordless one I have has crapped out, and this time I want one that's hardwired, but also has a built-in battery back-up that will last long enough for short power outages.
Any suggestions? Thx. "The ultimate judge of your swing is the flight of the ball." - Ben Hogan |

Mac,
I think you can pick up form Walgreens or Wallyworld for about $40. They are even programable to your zip code and what alerts you want. example: Midland WR 300 Weather alert radio or look here: http://www.weatherradiostore.com/?s=g&gc...7Aod1yuLqA Trained Weather Spotter CoCoRaHS Volunteer https://www.instagram.com/bostickjm https://twitter.com/BostickJM http://www.livechasers.com/JonathanBostick |

Thanks Joe-Nathan!
I looked the WR300 at Amazon and found a lot of negative reviews about the reception, and difficulty to program the unit. Since I didn't need the AM/FM/Alarm function - the receiver in my entertainment center, and the radio alarm clock both have radio's built-in, plus I have a battery operated radio to use for short-term outages - I got the WR120 which has the same features of the 300, including the SAME receiving feature and battery back-up and had better reviews. Plus I can buy a case of beer with what I saved over the WR300. ![]() "The ultimate judge of your swing is the flight of the ball." - Ben Hogan |

Weather radio
Santa delivered the Midland WR120. Took me all of 5 minutes to set-up and it gets great reception sitting on top of the entertainment center in the den. Thanks for the advice Joe-Nathan and Kobayashi!
