I have been around on some other weather boards. And it looks like in a long run the steering currents will set up for a south florida hit around the keys, and then into the gulf as a major can for 92L. They also think the central gulf cost will be at a high risk down the road looking at the long range steering pattern. Thoughts. /daz

If this isn't a gulfcoast threat then soon to be 93L, 94L will be down the road. Before the season started I said that TX/NC would get the bulk of the storms in 2008 and I see no reason to change my forecast at this time.

Looks like this one will in fact eventually get steered into the Gulf. I'm thinking more of a direct, island-long hit on Cuba rather than South Florida. Look at the animation linked a few posts above. The Atlantic looks like it will have a wall up from Miami north, all the way across the ocean.
