United States Blanketed by Tropical Weather?
Im noticing something shaping up I cant remember in recent history. So far we have had Dolly, Eduard, Fay, and Gustav. We have Hanna, Ike, and Josephine in the water and making their way. My question for the gurus is this. Have we ever had the entire gulf coast and Atlantic coast blanketed by tropical systems in one season? So far Im seeing Dolly and Eduard covering much of the Texas coast, Fay covering much of Florida's coasts on both sides, Gustav getting the northern gulf coast, and now Hanna models showing it swiping the east coast from one end to the other. Has this ever happened? Im sure it has but I cant remember such a thorough blanketing of landfalls and coverage before. Observations?

Rita(2005)
Ike(2008)

I've noticed this too. They're just not going away as quickly as before. They're just hanging and hanging and hanging around.

On August 28, 1995 we had Humberto (hurricane), Iris (hurricane), Karen (TS), Luis (TS) and Jerry which was a TS but down graded to a TD at this time.

4 Hurricanes on 9/26/98 - Georges, Ivan, Jeanne and Karl. That was the first time such an event had been recorded since the start of record keeping in 1886.

Fun times. /Wow
