Why doesn't the NWS radar show frozen precip (snow/sleet) as pink or white like I've seen on other radar sites?

Technically there is no White,Pink,Blue true areas yet on WSR 88d's TV stations Use data from the 850mb level among with some other data and plug it into the radar graphics they have and the radar shows a somewhat good idea of where the snow is. A few News stations do have the new Dual pol radar data that on the other hand is really good at showing whats snow and whats new the current WSR 88d really has no good way unless overlaying data to show snow.

The airports Public airports anyway does not have Dual Pol radar army does Dual pol unless someone pays money for on Gr2ae to get the select sites that have dual pol is not out for the public use right now. The New radars are able to identify precip type from snow to rain to Hail to any other precip. The current rain/snow/Mix/ice is not 100% Accurate.
