Can Someone Translate This For Me?
From Twitter... just received:
iembot_tbw #TBW: WINTER HAVEN (ASOS),FL (GIF) ASOS reports gust of 77.0 knots from SSE @ 1549Z KGIF 251553Z AUTO 00000KT 6S I'm reading this like we had winds around 85 mph. WTH? It's flat calm out there and I only live about 6 miles from Winter Haven. I suspect I'm missing something. Anyone know what they're talking about? |

virgo10 Wrote:iembot_tbw * iembot is the automated message bot that sent you that. * winter haven, (ASOS), fl is "Automated Surface Obs Station" in winter haven, florida. * 77.0kts from SSE @ 1549Z KGIF means that there was a 77kt gust from the SSE measured at 1549Z at KGIF (gilbert, fl airport) Hope that helps you out dude. |

Reading the above. At KGIF on the 25th of November at 1553 Zulu, automated weather observation reported 0 Knots or calm winds and 6SM (assuming the M was missing) 6 statute miles observation. What it is reporting and what iembot says are quite different.
