What do you guys think? A few NWS have already transitioned to the one inch hail criterion for severe storms.

The reason the 3/4 inch hail criteria was adopted in the first place because that was the size of hail that was determined to damage aircraft. Now with better metal, the aircraft can withstand hail to one inch which is probably true for most other objects as well. So IMO I think new criteria is in order. |

3/4 hail can still cause damage there's no doubt about that!
