AMEN!! I just hope the rainfall stays within reason. We definitely don't need March or August 2016 - style flooding in these parts! I gotta feeling that we're gonna get pretty wet in SE LA. I hope we get just enough salt water in the marshes & lakes to relieve the salinity imbalance caused by flood relief measures for the Mississippi which has caused a toxic algal bloom in Lake P and bigtime impact on oysters, crabs, etc. Flood warnings went up this afternoon for the Mississippi River in BR, NOLA, etc. Not sure when they'll close the floodgates now...

I've seen these critters creep onshore, travel inland along the coast, and flood from the Mississippi to central Texas. I'll watch this one, keep a generator handy, and already have supplies cached.

NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
800 PM EDT Tue Jul 9 2019

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

should continue to monitor the progress of this system. For more
information, please see products issued by your local weather
forecast office and the NOAA Weather Prediction Center.
