A:denotes the anvil
B: the overshooting top c.Mammatus: Unkown why they occur in storm thunderstorms but possible theories includ 1. eddies 2. evap. cooling. 3.pockets of precip. falling out as virga. Basically they are formed when negatively buoyant air sinks. d.flanking line: caused by outflow boundary convergence e.Rain core/hail shaft: usually located just to the left of the wall cloud f.wall cloud, usually where tornadogenesis occurs g.rain free base h.rear and forward flank downdrafts where tornadogenesis may occur depending on how contrasting they are. Hope this answers all questions Jeff. with the internet everything is possible. |
