Wilma main thread
Good morning folks. I was sleeping tyring to get some rest before wilma gets here, and she woke me up.
Right now in South Dade, it is windy as hell, though no much rain. You get some good gust every now and then. I was outside and could see transformers blowing off in the distance. My neighbor has a big tree next to a power line and you can see sparks jump off of it every now and then, I don't know if the tree is going to hold or no. I see the storm has gotten stronger. We don't expect to get the worst of this for about another 4 hours. My barometer currently is reading 29.21" or 990MB (hard to read that scale.). Nothing like Andrew, but she is still about 140 miles away from me at this point. I'm surprised I still have power. Mike V. |

Not at this time, landfall is Naples but the worst part is going to be over Cape Sable.
Bad news is this is a high end cat 3 storm and landfall and the worst weather is the southern part. Mike V. |

Well, she is starting to kick it up a couple of notches down here in South Dade. Pressure is now down to 29.1" and the wind is really starting to whistle. We have not gotten the worst bands yet as they are about 10 miles away, so in about 30 minutes all hell should start to break loose.
My power is starting to bounce so have no idea how long I can stay on. I'm watching transformers blowing NE of me like crazy. I just heard one of the fuse links blow south of me, power went out but came right back. Mike V. |
