Weather Camera Setup - Can Anyone Help?
Hi Everyone,
I purchased a D-Link DCS-900 Internet Camera for my weather website. My goal was to post the camera image to my website, through live feed. However I am having no luck at all in doing this task. I have no experience in camera's but would like to show the whole world the weather in my backyard. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on how to connect the camera to the website. Thanks, Doug Dorchester Weather |

Weather Camera Setup - Can Anyone Help?
I have done it 2 ways U can look AT http://www.paducahweather.net/towercam.htm
there is a link to the live feed and a link to the static picture The Static picture was the simpliest to setup. Not familiar with the d-link camwea put the SOny I used had a static image upload you could set it 2 upload a image anywhere from 30secs to 5 minuntes between simages captures I believe that one is set to 5 mins Th live feed was a little more difficult but realitvely easy The camera had a webhost protcol and u can set it for 5, 10,15,20 or 30FPS I set it at 20FPS and gave everyone the ability to move it since it is a PTZ camera To get the hosting to work I had to make some route tables in my rotuer to route my external Bellsotuh IP address to my internal LAN Address of the camera and then use port forwarind IE example IPS only Bellsouth ip 65.5.255.55 Internal 192.168.1.105 Router 192.168.1.1 I made a route from 65.5.255.55 to 192.168.1.1 then a route from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.105 then in port forwarding i set port 8888 to be forwared to 192.168.1.105 only set the camera for port 8888 and 192.168.1.105 and u have the live FEED In some cases your modem will have an internal and external ip which can get confusing especially if you add a linksys or other router on top of that it still can be done jst requires a few more routes I also used the same basic principal to hsot the Live scanner feeds listed If you need any toher assistance fell free to pm or post back here |
